Cal-20 Sailing Program

The VYC Cal 20 Sailing Program

The Cal 20 sailing program is a great benefit of joining the Vallejo Yacht Club. We have three of these 20 foot sailboats which are now available to members on several levels.

• For people with no sailing experience, we offer an  “Introduction to Sailing” classroom session on the 4th Saturday of the month from 9 AM until Noon on the basics of sailing.  Reserve a seat up to 30 days in advance

• Intro to Sailing

• For beginner sailors, we offer Cal 20 Saturday Sailing, usually on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 1 PM where a qualified skipper helps you learn to sail and practice your skills. Space is limited. You can reserve a seat up to14 days in advance.  To check availability and make a reservation, see:

• Experienced sailors can qualify to reserve a Cal 20 if they complete the Cal 20 Skipper Application, pass the written exam, and demonstrate sufficient on-board Cal 20 sailing abilities and responsibilities. The application can be found here:

• Small-boat sailing classes are taught in summer.
