About Vallejo Yacht Club
Vallejo Yacht Club, with over 400 members
and growing stronger, is a vibrant volunteer organization organized to
promote and encourage yachting, sailing, rowing, power boating and related
activities. Article III By-Laws Vallejo Yacht Club. The entire focus of
our club mission statement is dedicated to increasing the enjoyment of
sailing and boating.
Vallejo Yacht Club was founded in the year 1900 and can trace
its' roots back to 1866! As one of the 6 oldest surviving yacht clubs
on the west coast that has reached it's centenial we have a long and proud
heritage that makes us all proud to fly the VYC burgee and carry on the
traditions that have kept VYC strong for over 100 years.
Our private harbor and large clubhouse over the water make VYC
one of the premier yacht clubs where most members are able to access their
boats and their clubhouse at the same location. Final planning stages
for improvements to our private Harbor are now being undertaken. Our prime
location is close to the mouth of the Napa River , Carquinez Straits ,
San Pablo Bay and near great paddling areas just north of the club on
the Napa River . All of these attributes make our club a great place to
start any boating adventure.
Membership
Vallejo Yacht Club welcomes enthusiastic
people who bring their energy and their own life's experiences to the
fabric of the club. If you are an old salt, completely new to boating
or even if you have no boat at all, your interest in getting to know what
boating and its related activities are all about is enough for you to
be a candidate for membership in Vallejo Yacht Club. We welcome your application
or desire to come by for a tour and look at our facitlity and look forward to meeting
with you soon.
As it was previously mentioned, we are
a volunteer organization. This approach keeps our dues down and the food
and drink prices reasonable. It becomes immediately apparent that volunteerism's
main benefit is to promote a close relationship among the membership at
VYC. As a member you don't have to volunteer for anything, but those who
do volunteer are happy they did! The rewards are many by being an active
participant in helping to carry the tradition of this historic yacht club
forward.
We have a variety of membership categories.

Harbor
Vallejo Yacht Club has its own private harbor currently with 124 slips of various sizes from 30-44 feet. Slip fees are very reasonable keeping the harbor filled to near capacity.
For space availability contact the Port Captain.
Plans for our Harbor Expansion are currently
being finalized by the engineers and permit process is beginning in the
near future opening a new chapter at VYC for berthing growth and increased
convenience for members and reciprocal clubs too. Depending on the new
configuration, we look to expand with about 50 more slips making room
for new and current members that want to berth their boat at the club.
A member can be on the waiting list now to increase odds of getting a
slip when the new Seawall goes up. This is a multi-million dollar project
that has been worked on by dedicated members since 1989. Until then, Vallejo
's Muni Marina borders our north lot line making access to the club easy
for those wanting their boat close to the club and are on our waiting
list to get into our expanded harbor when completed.
